Overview
In partnership with Protect Our Winters (POW), Progression 2024 brought together more than 250 investors, founders, and thought leaders at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team’s USANA Center of Excellence Olympic training facility in Park City, Utah.
The program featured pitches from six clean energy and climate resilience start-ups selected in partnership with POW, keynote remarks from professional skier Amie Engerbretson and U.S. Senate candidate (UT), an inspiring speech from Patagonia athlete Caroline Gleich, and a private post-pitch dinner reception for founders, investors, and industry leaders.

The program featured keynote remarks from professional skier and POW Athlete Alliance member Amie Engerbretson, along with an impactful talk from Caroline Gleich, U.S. Senate candidate (UT) and Patagonia athlete. Erik Snyder, founder of the Drawdown Fund and Chair of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team’s Sustainability Committee, added a powerful perspective on how sport and climate innovation intersect.

Progression 2024 Finalists:
Through Progression’s Double IC process, 6 finalists were selected to present at Progression 2024. First, the VC Selection Committee, which included investors from the Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association, reviewed and shortlisted companies with strong commercial potential. POW, serving as our main Proximity Stakeholder, then made the final selection based on alignment with their mission in clean energy and climate resilience.
Future of Clean Energy Investing Panel
The Future of Clean Energy Investing Panel, presented by RSM, explored the most important trends shaping today’s climate and energy markets. Panelists discussed emerging technologies accelerating the energy transition, the sectors attracting early-stage and growth capital, and how investment strategies are evolving as the industry scales. The conversation offered founders and investors a practical, forward-looking view of where the next wave of opportunity is emerging.
Post-Pitch Dinner & Networking Reception
Following the pitches, investors, founders, and industry leaders gathered for a private networking reception and private dinner, fostering meaningful connections over shared insights into climate tech and clean energy. The evening provided a unique opportunity for deep conversations, deal-making, and collaboration among those driving the future of sustainable innovation.
